5 Questions with a Senior Merchant Support Specialist

Meet Heather Gavette, a Senior Merchant Support Specialist at Expansion Capital Group, who took the time to answers some questions about her role. 

Q: What got you interested in ECG?

A: I had worked for several large bank corporations in the past and I was looking for a change. I wanted to be a part of a smaller, more personal company and that’s when I found ECG. 

Q: What have you enjoyed the most during your time working here? 

A: I really enjoy the atmosphere and the culture here at ECG. You truly feel like you are part of a family.

Q: What is a problem that you helped solve for an ECG merchant, specifically involving Collections?

A: In my job role I help people find solutions to resolve their account during times that are not always going good for them. I have options that give me the ability to help find a custom solution and opportunity to listen to each situation to find a workable plan to help our merchants resolve their outstanding accounts in a way that works for both the merchant and ECG. There are always new challenges and new opportunities to help every day and it is hard to narrow it down to just one.

Q: What are a few of the most common reasons small business turn to ECG?

A: A few reasons I hear pretty frequently is their bank can’t help them with the funding they need for one reason or another. We are quick and easy. They have funded with us in the past and like our service.

Q: Where do you see ECG in 5 years?

A: It’s exciting to think about that, but tricky to say for certain. In the 6+ years of working for ECG I have seen many changes along the way. I would say lots of growth! At the rate things are growing today, it won’t be long before we take over the entire building and doubling the number of employees. Also, I see ECG standing out among the Fintech companies in our industry due to our great service and our drive to continually challenge ourselves to do and be better.
