ECG Profiles: 5 Questions with a Renewals Client Advisor

Meet Mandy Shimel, a Renewals Client Advisor at Expansion Capital Group. She took some time to answers a few questions about her her time at ECG, what got her started in the company, and where she see’s herself growing with ECG in the future.

Q: What got you interested in ECG?

A: I actually applied for another opportunity and was referred to ECG. They thought this organization and the job would be a better fit for my background and skillset.  It has been the best job I have ever had and three years later I continue to grow within the organization.

Q: What have you enjoyed the most during your time working here?

A: ECG is family-first oriented and that is why I love working for them. We do cater to small businesses nationally, but we ourselves are a small business.  The managers make it a point to assist you in development and reaching your goals.  Once you work here this is like a second family who really cares about you as an individual, both in and out of the office.

Q: What is a problem that you helped solve for an ECG merchant, specifically involving Renewals?

A: We had a customer call in and wanted to expand to a 2nd location and we worked with them to make that happen. Given 99% of my clients are in other states, this one was exceptionally gratifying because it was a local South Dakota company.  The owner just opened the new location a few weeks ago with our capital, so it was very nice to see that come into fruition.

Q: What are a few of the most common reasons small businesses turn to ECG?

A: Small business owners that find ECG are typically looking to either buy new equipment, expand their existing or new business locations, or simply just need capital to assist with some ups and downs in their business. Those same business owners stay with us because of our relationship oriented approach in Renewals and our great customer service.

Q: Where do you see ECG in 5 years?

A: I have seen it grow so much in the last 3 years already. I, myself, have moved from Collections to Sales to Senior Sales. This company is always growing and finding new ways to promote from within and reward employees for hard work and dependability. I see myself growing everyday with this company and in return see the company improving as a forward-thinking fin-tech.
